Vote for the Bay of Fundy - 7 Wonders of Canada
VOTE FOR THE BAY OF FUNDY!!!!!!
It’s official, the Bay of Fundy has made it to the short list of 50 possible wonders in Canada - from which 7 wonders will be determined. More than 25,000 “wonders” were nominated in this CBC contest, and at the moment our beautiful Bay of Fundy is number two on the list, after millions of votes. WE WANT TO BE NUMBER ONE! We need your vote. Please go the following link to get directly to the CBC website and cast your vote for the Bay of Fundy.
Http://www.cbc.ca/sevenwonders/vote.html Also, if you have an email database of members, friends or colleagues who love the Bay of Fundy, please forward this email and encourage them to vote. We need to pull out all the stops to insure the Bay of Fundy gets the national recognition it so marvelously deserves.
St. Andrews, which sits at the head of the Bay of Fundy, has awoken from its long winter sleep and is shaking off the wet showers of Spring. Everywhere you look, renewal is taking place. Lamp standards have a fresh coat of paint, as do many store fronts, windows boxes are being readied for planting and even the Bank of Nova Scotia’s grounds are being landscaped after major renovations on the buildings basement.
We are about to welcome back the St Andrews Farmers Market, which operates out of the Town Square every Thursday morning from 8am until 1 pm. This year, the Town has agreed to close Water street from King and Frederick during Market mornings, which should make for a more festive atmosphere and a more enjoyable shopping experience. Market vendors sell everything from organic vegetables and eggs to homemade pies and recycled fur mittens. Come early for the best the farmers have to offer and come a lunch to enjoy delicious ethnic foods.
Gardening tip: This is THE best time of the year to weed your garden! The roots of weeds are too deep as yet, even dandelions are easy to remove. If your free you lawn (of those pesky dandelions) and flower beds of all weeds now, the rest of the summer you’ll be able to sit back and enjoy your gardens, rather than kneel and bend in weeding agony.
